Why I liked this title:
Princess Penelope is so spoiled that when she demands a pig for her birthday, her parents, the King and Queen, let her have one! She chooses one of the ugliest, but, as it turns out, one of the smartest pigs around. Along with the pig, who Princess Penelope names Lollipop, comes Johnny, the pig handler. While training Lollipop to become a house, or rather, a castle, pig, Princess Penelope learns a few lessons herself. This charming story would be terrific for new or reluctant readers, as well as a wonderful read-aloud. And the drawings are great, too!
