Why I liked this title:

Imagine yourself a very poor peasant boy in 14th century England, and the only name you've ever had is "Asta's son." Your mother has just died, and not only are you left without any worldly possessions, you have been declared a "wolf's head," meaning you are to be killed on sight for a crime you didn't commit. In this 2003 Newbery Award winner, the reader is immersed in the world of feudal England and is enveloped in the characters and suspense and swift pacing of the story. This is a fascinating coming-of-age novel that gives the reader cause to reflect on their own lives and community through their book friend, Crispin.
