Why I liked this title:
Nine-year-old Reeve McLain, Jr., a.k.a Junebug, lives in the awful housing projects in Connecticut where he can't stand the gangs, drugs, and guns that surround his home. With Junebug's 10th birthday coming up, he is planning a day of wishes-come-true in order to avoid the gang members who are trying to recruit him. This book gives a very realistic look at what inner-city/public housing life is like and will have the reader feeling the ups and downs of Junebug's life.
