Why I liked this title:

Leon Zeisel is very uncoordinated-- he could not string macaroni in the earlier grades or do things with his hands like tie his shoelaces. It looks like 4th grade will be a nightmare when his teacher, Miss Hagmeyer (the "hag") tells the class they will spend the year sewing stuffed animals. She believes that by "making you will learn!" Can you imagine poor Leon trying to sew as many stitches per inch as possible? But when Leon makes an exact copy of "the hag" as his final project and discovers that when the doll moves so does his teacher and things start looking better. Would you believe that spit is the key to the mystery?
