Why I liked this title:

The year is 1936 and there's a new center fielder for the Yankees. Everyone listens to the radio and Joseph Paul, the narrator of the story, is no exception. He has more in common with Joe DiMaggio than just a first name. Joseph Paul's family emigrated to the United States from Italy, too, just like the DiMaggios. Joseph Paul constantly listens to baseball on the radio with his beloved grandfather and the two share the hope that he will some day be as successful in America as Joltin' Joe-- but there's a problem: Joseph Paul's father is always in trouble, and often in jail, and always bringing disgrace to the family.
