Why I liked this title:

Dave Packer is a loudmouth. Dave knows it. Everybody at Laketon Elementary School knows it. Dave even tries to stop talking altogether for a day as an experiment to “bring order to his mind” as inspired by his school report topic, Gandhi. He was doing pretty well, too, until lunchtime. That’s when Dave overheard the class queen bee, Lynsey Burgess jabbering away about sweaters (most definitely a pointless and trivial subject to Dave). Before he could stop himself, he blurted out to Lynsey, “If you had to shut up for five minutes, I bet the whole top of your head would explode!” That was it. It was on. Barbs were flying back and forth and before Dave knew what happened, he had agreed to a contest between the boys and girls to not speak for two whole days. That is, unless spoken to by a teacher, a parent, or other adult directly asking a question. Then you were allowed to speak, but only in three word sentences. Any more than three words and your group would be penalized a point per word…on the honor system. Who wins, the boys or the girls? This school story is a ton of fun!
