Why I liked this title:
In this Newbery award winner, the mysterious death of eccentric millionaire Sam W. Westing brings together an unlikely assortment of potential heirs for the reading of the will. The sixteen children and adult heirs are paired off and faced with the task of uncovering the circumstances of Westing’s death/murder before they can claim their inheritance. Similar to Chasing Vermeer’s use of mathematical puzzles, The Westing Game uses puzzle-like word clues for the characters to investigate and unravel. This is a very clever and funny book that will be enjoyed by both male and female mystery fans.
This title is also available on cassette.
