Why I liked this title:
This is a book that was recommended to me by my daughter Sarah, and it is a page-turner! Life in 1840 is peaceful and predictable for 13-year-old Jessie and the other residents of the small town of Clifton, Indiana - until diphtheria strikes. Then, one by one, the children of Clifton become deathly ill. There is no medicine to help them. It is only then that Jessie's mother reveals an incredible secret to her: Clifton is far from what it appears to be. To save the children, Jessie must embark on a dangerous journey; she must escape from the world of 1840 into the future. If you like heart-stopping adventure and unpredictable plot twists, pick up Running Out of Time.
