Why I liked this title:

This book is an exciting story based on a real storm of June 3, 1980. On that date seven tornadoes battered Grand Island, Nebraska killing several people and destroying over 500 homes. Night of the Twisters tells this story through the eyes of 12-year-old Dan and his best friend, Arthur. The boys are babysitting Dan’s baby brother when the tornado strikes the house. Barely making it into the basement before the house is destroyed, the boys must summon the courage and strength to keep themselves and the baby from harm and to find a way, amidst the debris of fallen houses, to reach their families. Ivy Ruckman’s fast pace, along with the exciting details of the house being hit by a tornado, will keep you reading until the end. This title is really interesting in the Midwest where we all know of tornado damage.
