Why I liked this title:
I couldn't wait for this book to come out! I heard Jon Scieszka speak at Chicago Public Library a couple of years ago, and heard some of his hilarious tales of growing up with his five brothers. I was constantly wiping tears out of my eyes and holding my stomach from laughing so hard! This is Scieszka's wildly entertaining biographical look at growing up as the second of six boys. "Knucklehead" is the term of endearment that Scieszka's dad used to call him and his brothers as they were growing up. Have you ever...
- Had your brother try to sell you your own shirt?
- Made a list of all the bad words you know-- for your teacher?
- Broken your brother's collarbone playing football-- four times?
- Tied your little brother into his bed with your dad's ties?
Well, Jon Scieszka has! Join Jon on his journey back in time for a glimpse into how he developed into the very funny author he is today. A quick and easy read, this supremely funny book is full of family photos, quirky illustrations, and short, two or three page chapters.
